MSM

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is basically an organic sulfur already found in our bodies and some plants. It contains 0.25% of our total body weight and along with salt and water composes 90% of all living organisms. When isolated, it is white and odourless powder which forms bonds between protein that are responsible for supple and well hydrated cells in our skin.

In the presence of ultraviolet light and ozone, MSM is formed from dimethyl sulfied and taken up into the atmosphere. It returns to the earth in rainfall and gets to the root system of plants. That’s the reason MSM is found in small quantities in many foods. Brussels, broccoli and cabbage are especially rich in MSM and they have a distinctive odour when cooked. It can also be found in dairy and meat products.

MSM Benefits

Once called “factor N”, which stands for returning cells to normal, MSM has a variety of health benefits. Using Vitamin C it maintains supple, permeable collagen cell walls in flesh tissues. In all amino acids and enzymes it provides sulfur bonding and requires our body to use Vitamin D, C, E, B5, Co-Enzye Q-10, Manganese, Calcium and Selenium.

MSM allows nutrients to penetrate by softening leathery eye membranes. It improves damaged blood vessels, muscle tone, red spots and vision. It removes floaters and waste particle buildup. MSM is also responsible for moving out waste toxins, but also oxygen and nutrients into cells. It improves cell wall respiration, lessens athletic soreness, tendonitis, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, toe pain, hip dysplasia and muscle inflammations and pain.

MSM helps with emphysema, asthma, lung problems and boosts immunity. It counters food and pollen allergies, migraines, headaches, dust mites, alcoholism, hangover, Alzheimer’s disease, but also neutralizes foreign proteins and free radicals.

MSM neutralizes snake (rattle) bites, flea and mosquito bites, bee stings, and black widow spider and brown recluse spider bites. It prevents constipation, divericulosus and stomach problems, lessens cholesterol buildup, heart attacks and strokes. It even lessens recovery time and boosts energy.

MSM and Skin

In the form of supplement, MSM helps soften the joint tissue and restore flexibility, which is one of the main reasons why it’s so popular in the beauty industry. MSM helps relieve skin itching, wrinkles and leathery cracked skin. It reduces burns, cuts, skin tumors, brown and black spots, moles and scar tissue.

Conclusion

MSM is extremely important for our body to function properly. It has many health benefits, but is mostly used as a skin care supplement. Our skin cells act like soft tissue cells and need to retain their flexibility and pliability, and using MSM supplements we will achieve that. Although it can be used externally, it is highly recommended to use it internally instead.
